A few years after this book’s predecessor, we started working on a follow-up. In the meantime Ryan’s work had branched out into sound and video, which we attempted to collect and embody here via the conceit of scripting a TV series. The works are interspersed with a vast number of reference material from TV and film, occasionally helped along with voiceovers and subtitles.

We were at least semi-serious about the series getting commissioned, to the point of employing someone to assemble a draft budget included in the opening sequence, but despite Ryan once pitching the idea during a taxi ride with Alan Yentob, who was then Creative Director of the BBC, nothing came of it. The offer remains on the table.
